Flora and Fauna: Light Show of Nature
Viewing stars shining in the sky is rather easy, but viewing fireflies like Photinus Carolinus in the darkness is difficult and such viewing experience is incredible. It is not only about their beauty and magical glow, but also about behavior in their natural environment. This is the most beautiful biological phenomenon that one would ever witness. They are not hardwired to flash with a particular pattern. Their light displays seem to be more social instead. They watch what their neighbors do and then try to follow along.
In order to have a closer and better look at this tiny bug, I turn on the light in the darkness.
Please always be respectful when viewing fireflies. We should protect them from bright light pollution. Otherwise, they will stop flashing and their mating process will be disrupted.
