Flora and Fauna: Planet Brick

A vignette depicting a giant hand arm of vegetation emerging from the earth, with a massive red LEGO brick in its grasp! This is a rather simple concept I came up with after initially trying to do a similar build for the "Secret Life Of" portion of the challenge. My original plan was to have a much simpler-looking giant hand of LEGO bricks emerging from the earth, and with several construction worker LEGO minifigures surrounding it with scaffolding. I then decided to make the hand green and covered with plants, and surrounded with animals instead of workers. Due to space limitations, I reduced the animals to just the deer, the parrot, and monkey.

The overall building was actually streamlined, and the main challenge was getting the hand to be at somewhat of an angle from the wrist without disconnecting and falling off due to its weight. I based the shape/size of the hand off my own left hand. The final steps were adding all of the plants and animals once the main structure was built.
