Flora and Fauna: Flowers From Orion
Star gazing has always been one of my favorite activities in the winter, when the nights are longer, and Orion is running across the sky! I cannot help but wonder what he and all the other constellations have seen of us and the universe.
Several years ago, I was enjoying the night sky and found myself wondering what flowers on other planets might look like. I heard a noise in the bushes behind me and saw a faint glow when a little man came out. He handed me the strangest looking bouquet of flowers that I have ever seen and said, “The stars like you too!” then disappeared before I could respond.
At first, I thought it was only a dream… but these brightly colored flowers have never faded and still smell as fragrant as the night I received them. I’m not sure where exactly they came from, but I will always treasure my bouquet of flowers from Orion!
