Flora and Fauna: Giant Fly
Can a fly be beautiful? Look carefully and you might just discover the beauty of a fly beyond its annoying buzz. Marvel at the fly's compound eyes which contain thousands of lens, or take a moment to wonder how those delicate yet powerful wings allow movements more agile than the most advanced technology.
This giant fly is around 32 studs long, 15 studs wide and 20 studs in height. It has poseable legs and a ball joint connecting the head to the torso. The eyes are a key feature, built with wrapping a net element (BrickLink Part No. 35829) around 2 red domes to create the notion of compound eyes. The brick-built wings consist of trans-clear bricks, panels and slopes and are connected via ball joints to model, allowing the positions to mimic those found on a real fly.
I really hope this model can find its way to the Lego house!
