The Dwarfed Dwarves' Mine!
I love a good castle, but the dwarven mine was the kind of set that would have enthralled a younger version of me if I was lucky enough to get it. I wanted to build something unique for this contest, and the 7036 Dwarves' Mine set came to mind! With pully systems, crashing minecarts, and an overall really cool concept, I knew it would be great fun to make. Microscale forced me to get creative with some parts, my personal favorites of part usage and techniques are the levers used for the minecart, the whip and shield combo for the pully, the wand for the rope, and of course, the spoon for a catapult. I also included a big scary troll, modelled after the one seen in the original set. I wanted to keep the build as close to the original as possible, while also adding touches of my own. I kept details like the barrels and anvil outside the front, but added details such as the mountain the mine is atop of, and the caverns beneath it, filled with minecart rails and gold. I hope you enjoyed!
