The Dodo
This extinct, flightless bird lived on Mauritius and is believed to have been highly sociable and well adapted to their environment. Unfortunately, as it evolved in a relatively safe environment, with few predators to trouble it, it was unprepared for the arrival of humans to the island (accompanied by dogs, rats and other invasive species). Though the fate of the dodo is a sad one, it can act as a salient reminder that human actions have consequences on the flora and fauna around us.
