Maya Exhibition

My entry is an exhibition about ancient Maya history.

When I was younger, I always felt fascinated by the ancient cultures that lived in Mexico hundreds of years ago. I read books about it, saw several pictures and always wished to visit this land. Last year I got the chance to fulfil my dream and I even ticked off an item from my bucket list – I visited Chichen Itza! Hence, I was sure that my entry will be about Maya artifacts and about the pyramid.

In this exhibition one can see a miniature copy of the pyramid in Chichen Itza with the snake heads on its North side, a Jade Mask, a wall section depicting a Maya Mask, another wall section depicting a Two-Headed Snake, a Tribal Jade Head (that looks a bit like a vase), the Red Jaguar Throne and the goal of the Maya ballgame, Pok-ta-Pok.

I also included some plants with Mexican origin in the exhibition: Mexican Bird of Paradise, Poinsettia and Agave Americana.
