Minerology and Gemstones
I always look forward to this section of a natural history museum. I love the fact that the beauty and wonder of nature can be seen in something so permanent.
Tools
Picks, chisels, and magnifying glasses... but is one missing?
Gemstones
Emeralds, rubies, and one of the world's largest diamonds!
Formations
The natural shapes that occur in nature can be mesmerizing.
Fluorescent
Certain types of rock will actually give off a glow when put under black light.
Precious Metals
Silver and gold... in their unrefined form and in solid bars!
Meteorite
The world's largest meteorite just happened to land in the Natural History museum's town! Apparently, it also caused some damage which a visitor to the museum has taken displeasure with.
Geodes
Plain on the outside, but once opened, they reveal a beautiful interior in a myriad of colors.
Crystalline
Stone created in crystalline form over millennia.
