Vole Patronus
This life-sized water vole is the largest species of Vole that likes in the UK, often these mammals are mistaken for brown rats as they have a similar shape and colour, but water voles are actually just a little bit smaller than rats, although they are a lot rounder.
I've decided to sit this little guy on a lily pad on top of a water base, and have used streaks of different coloured blue plates underneath the translucent tiles to create a real-looking water effect. In the far right corner I have exposed a section of water and added a handful of reeds to help the composition of the build.
Did you know that Ratty from The Wind in the Willows was actually a Water Vole?
