Paint the Luck of Love

I have always been captivated by light 🏮

Whether there is deep symbolism behind them or not, I am truly fascinated by what can be created with simple plays of light

Light is closely connected to painting: you can create by layering, playing with contrasts and tones

That’s why today, I wanted to depict a love scene through an original concept, focused on light and painting

I was young when I first attended a lantern release ceremony. Every year, this magical event takes place in one of my childhood towns during Christmas

These lanterns, filled with hope and dreams, are said to bring luck

It’s through a painting that I wanted to capture a scene that deeply moved me: two cats, standing by the edge of a bridge, watching the lanterns float into the sky

I don’t know if they were curious about the crowd or just ignoring it to enjoy the lights, but it was a beautiful moment

I believe that in these cats, each of us can see ourselves, in those moments where time seems to stand still ❤
