Stratocaster Island
"Well I stand up next to a mountain, and I chop it down with the edge of my hand... well I pick up all the pieces and make and island... I might even raise a little sand!" - Jimi Hendrix
This build is a celebration of the classic Jimi Hendrix track - Voodoo Child (Slight Return). Jimi was a huge influence on me growing up, and Voodoo Child was one of the first songs that really inspired me as a young musician. It's an amazing example of what an incredible talent he was, and of what an awesome instrument the mighty Fender Stratocaster can be... And now it has inspired me again, this time to create in lego bricks, not musical notes!
This ancient, overgrown island has formed in the shape of an upside down Strat, just like the master Jimi famously played his. There's a swinging bridge precariously hung on those ancient strings, and a grumpy stone totem head guarding the island. And of course, Jimi is here too in minifigure form!
I really enjoyed building this, I hope you like it too!
