Make Poverty History
Live 8 was a string of 11 benefit concerts in nine countries, organized in 2005, with the aim of providing solidarity to poor nations.
The London concert saw the end of the 24-year wait for all Pink Floyd fans, who were finally able to see Roger Waters, David Gilmour, Richard Wright and Nick Mason once again together on stage.
At the beginning of Comfortably Numb's solo a white and unwritten wall appeared on the screens.
While David Gilmour played, slowly the words "Make Poverty History" appeared, as if an invisible hand was writing a message to the world on those notes.
I like to think that it was his own guitar, the legendary Black Strat, that wrote those words, as a plea for solidarity for all the people who live in poverty every day.
A message that is still relevant in the difficult period that the whole world is experiencing.
I wanted to recreate that moment, reproducing the stage screens with 2 different faces. David Gilmour's guitar on one side and its message on the other.
