Buddy Holly: The First Strat Hero

Considered by some to be "The First Strat Hero,” Buddy Holly played Peggy Sue on a maple-necked Stratocaster in 1957. The guitar was released in 1954, and some say that it was Holly’s performance on The Ed Sullivan Show in ‘57 that made the Stratocaster the popular instrument it is today.
Even now, if you go to Buddy Holly’s hometown of Lubbock Texas, you can see a statue of him playing this iconic guitar.

This build depicts that famous TV performance with his band The Crickets. Buddy Holly is the singer and lead guitarist (on the Stratocaster), Jerry Allison is on drums, Niki Sullivan is on rhythm guitar, and Joe B. Mauldin is on bass. The photo has a black and white filter to better recreate the event. The creation has 313 bricks.
