Cyberpunk vs Steampunk: Chess of the Ages
Chess is a classic game that is easy to learn and hard to master. A chess set would be timeless however, a plain set wouldn't be a good idea, given that Lego already designed 2 of them. So what to do? Use the time in 'timeless' off course! Steampunk and cyberpunk are anachronistic art styles, with an instantly recognizable aesthetic and cool factor. I believe those will help this chess set stand out from other- Lego and non-Lego alike- sets. The board has 2 sides. The cyber side is sleek and neat, the pieces are angular and there RGB "lights" throughout. the steam side is messy with gears, valves and pipes along the sides, the pieces are more curved and decorated with brass and steel-the knight pieces even have little steam ears. The kings are decorated with metallic gold and silver, to indicate their high value and give the feel of real gold and silver, among the pearl gold and flat silver used for brass and steel.
