Banker's Lamp

Both functional and decorative, the Banker's Lamp is iconic in its design. A timeless classic and instantly recognisable, I just had to build one for this challenge.

I studied many reference photos in order to make this model as accurate as possible. I particularly liked the lamps with twin stems and so replicated this in my build - they add an extra decorative element as well as increasing stability. My design is inspired by Antoni Gaudi, in keeping with LEGO tributes to famous architects and artists.

The model uses a combination of Technic and System elements and features fun building techniques including extensive SNOT. There are no visible studs and minimal anti-studs for a smooth, sleek design.

My favourite feature is the bulb and socket apparatus. I strived to make even this hidden part as detailed and realistic as possible.

An elegant display piece, this model would look great in a study or next to the LEGO Typewriter or Globe.
