Sinclair ZX Spectrum 48K With TV and Cassette Player
The brainchild of British inventor, Sir Clive Sinclair, the 48K ZX Spectrum was designed to bring personal computers to the masses, being the first truly affordable home computer to be sold for less than £100 (GBP). With Sir Clive being somewhat of an eccentric, the ZX Spectrum was designed like no other computer of its time, with a compact narrow body and a unique rubber keyboard, more akin to the modern laptop of today.
This build includes the iconic ZX Spectrum 48K reimagined in brick and includes a functioning keyboard with keys that can actually be pressed.
The generic designed dark-grey 1980’s TV includes a screenshot from the opening play screen of what I consider to be the archetypal Spectrum game, Jet Set Willy, again, reimagined in brick.
The games were loaded by cassette tape so I have also reimagined an 80’s portable tape player in brick. This features and opening cassette deck, hinging buttons and rotary controls.
