Lego Speak & Spell

In the 80’s before smartphones, online word games, or PCs, we had one electronic device that captured our imaginations like none other; Speak & Spell!

Immortalized in E.T., honored in Toy Story and most recently appearing in Stranger Things, the iconic Speak & Spell has been imprinted on our pop-culture collective-consciousness for half a century!

The challenge asked for iconic, instantly recognizable and FUN! Speak & Spell checks all the boxes! The build is roughly the same size as the original. LEGO colors matched those of the original brilliantly. I decided against stickers for this build relying solely on bricks to convey the design.

The screen can either show ‘LEGO’ spelled out in blue or a blank green glow. There’s a hidden compartment to hold the version not in use.

I think LEGO Speak & Spell will grace any collector’s shelf and is a fun and iconic build that anyone would enjoy assembling and displaying.  Thank you so much for taking a look and for your support!
