Functional Mechanical Clock
Discover the magic of classic engineering in LEGO brick form!
Powered by an elegant pendulum and a counterweight, this clock captures the timeless beauty of horology while offering a fascinating educational experience.
Designed to be both a beautiful display piece and a tribute to horology, this wind-up clock drives its second hand through a pendulum escapement mechanism, which you can wind from the back. Thanks to its remontoire (constant-force mechanism), you can wind it while it continues to run. It also includes a rear door and removable top to observe the inner workings.
Notable mechanisms:
Pendulum escapement
Counterweight with remontoire and ratchet
Gear train
A charming Easter egg hides a tiny clockmaker in his workshop! Can you also find the creative use of a frog, seashells, and even a hidden golden Snitch?
This project is accompanied by a real video of the working mechanism.
If you enjoyed it and would love to bring it to life, I would be thrilled to have your support!
