Retro TV With VHS and Antenna

What it is: This fun retro TV displays the universal colour test pattern we all remember, includes knobs to adjust the channel and volume, a power button and speaker, red audio and yellow video cables, a remote control, an antenna and a video home system with a video cassette.

Why I built it: This model is sentimental for me as I have fond memories of enjoying movies on VHS, problem solving the error signal, playing with the antennae and searching for the remote control!

Why it would be a great set: I think a TV and VHS should be represented in LEGO, and my brand-agnostic interpretation sparks a deep nostalgia internationally. The test pattern has become a modern meme, and is perfect for fans who enjoy collecting the range of colours available in LEGO. A TV can be displayed in any room and marks many historic moments and memories for people all over the world. Although it looks simple to build, it can be surprisingly challenging to replicate, and is a fun, colourful display item.
