Vintage Transporation: Balloon, Balloon! The Balloon Is Flying!
The first balloon flight took place on June 5, 1783, brothers Joseph Michel and Jacques Étienne Montgolfier in Annonay made the first successful attempt to fly a paper-and-cloth balloon (diameter about 12 m) "Ad Astra" (Towards the stars). The hot-air balloon flew 2,336 m, rising to an altitude of about 1.8 km.
The inspiration to build this model was a LEGO element (Tile 1 x 2 with Groove with 'TICKET' and '0937' Pattern) lying on my desk in the LEGO room.
And that's how a kind of postcard/frame commemorating the first attempts to fly with bolognas filled with hot air was created. And the larger version of the ticket made of blocks is a kind of tribute to the developing transport and transport-related tourism.
