Celebrating Classics: The Cottage House
The most common thing we built out of Lego bricks as kids in the 80s was a four-wall house. It always had a couple of windows, a front door, a few trees in the yard, and a red roof. I still have some of those original bricks, which you can see in this build. The shuttered windows and front door are all vintage pieces, along with the trees in the yard.
Since then, Lego brick designs have come a long way, so I built a classic four-wall Lego house but added a few modernizations. A cat has escaped out the front door and is headed down the cobblestone walkway; there's a rabbit in the garden eating the sprouting plants; and inside, brunch is on the table, and there are a few dirty dishes in the sink.
Underneath, the support bricks for the base and the floor of the house are hiding a secret homage to the traditional Lego colors. There are red, yellow, blue, green, black, and white 2x2 bricks hidden within the structure.
I hope you enjoy this Classic Lego House.
Sincerely,
Brick Enchanted
