Vintage Transportation: "The Flying Dutchman" (Horse Powered Locomotive)
This entry is inspired by "The Flying Dutchman": an American, horse-powered locomotive operated by the South Carolina Canal and Railroad Company in 1830. Propelled by a horse running on a treadmill, it operated on a 6 mile stretch of track and could carry 12 passengers at a top speed of around 12 mph.
After operating for about a year, it was replaced by a steam engine, "The Best Friend of Charleston". (I've used the colour scheme of this steam engine as I couldn't find a colour reference for the "Dutchman".)
The model can fit up to 6 seated passengers as well as 2 crew (and the horse of course!) and comes with a section of track to display it on.
