All Seasons: Personified

I have built four characters to personify each season, while also representing each stage of human life.

🌷 Spring is a young woman in her prime; a leaping ballerina, coloured like a flower in bloom, fertile and full of beauty and grace.

🌞 Summer is a young boy full of energy and creativity. He built a sandcastle at the beach for so long that high tide has returned to wash it away! His bright colours represent the vigour and brightness of sunlight and youth, and his red rash vest and yellow shorts are a nod to surf lifesavers at the beach.

🍁 Autumn is a scarecrow with a crow atop his hat and shoulder, surrounded by coloured leaves. The more muted palette for his clothes represent the weariness of middle age, while the colours represent the unique turning of the seasons during these years.

❄️ Winter is a bearded seafarer retired to his "winter" years. Old and wise, he wears a tweed flat cap and leather boots, his nose ruddy from the cold. The model colours represent water and ice.
