Chirashi Sushi (Party Style)

Chirashi Sushi (らし寿司), also spelled Chirashizushi, translates to “scattered sushi.” Chirashi Sushi is essentially all the ingredients of a Sushi roll, only it is served layered in a bowl. Consider it “home style cooking” and it’s much easier to make at home because it can be served individually or family-style.

This Chirashi Sushi is served “Party Style,” which is common for holidays such as Children’s Festival or special events such as weddings or banquets, and, yes, parties. Essentially, I present to you a slice of “Sushi Cake!”
