Bionic Prosthetic Hand

Japan is renown for its amazing developments in the field of robotics. One of the many areas to which this expertise is being applied is in the creation of prosthetic limbs. In the last century, thanks to the work of countless medics and engineers, prosthetic hands have gone from simple pincers, to fully functioning bionic hands, capable of even delicate manipulations.

This model prosthetic hand has fully articulated fingers to allow them to be bent into any position. The thumb and wrist both contain ball joints to allow natural movement. This build contains a total of 531 bricks.

The colour-scheme was inspired by Kintsugi, the Japanese art of fixing things with gold. Some people see those of us with disabilities as something broken and imperfect; but I wanted to show that our challenges actually make us stronger and more beautiful.
