Bride in Traditional Dress
This model features a bride wearing a kimono. At traditional Japanese weddings the bride will wear either a Shiromuku (which is a white kimono) or an Irouchikake (colored kimono). She also wears a Wataboshi (a hood, often white) or a Tsunokakushi (a silk paper hat) on her head. The groom wears a black or colored Montsuki Haori (Kimono jacket) and Hakama trousers.
For photographs after the wedding there can often be changes of outfit and my bride is showing off her traditional hairstyle complete with flowers and beads.
I am really pleased with the outcome of this model. It uses 1252 parts (including the optional stand) and uses various techniques including snot, hinges and turntables to achieve the angles required for the kimono.
The model can either be hung on the wall with a large hook embedded in the upper part of the head (see picture), or stood on a surface using the optional stand.
My favourite display technique is the stand, as it allows you to see the details on the back.
