Japanese Garden, Crafted Around a Tea Pavilion and a Pond
For a person who never set foot in Japan, like me, quite a lot of things come to mind when it comes to celebrate tranquillity, as it feels the whole country had been built around this feeling!
There is one thing, however, that resonates more than anything else to my ears: a tea pavilion, in the middle of a beautiful garden. A garden carefully designed to pretend being shaped by nature’s best artists, to reserve surprises wherever the eyes look, and to be a true experience for all the senses.
In a nutshell, this model proposes:
- A three-storeys tea pavilion, where our minifigures can enjoy soup and tea in a decorum inspired by The Great Wave off Kanagawa (Hokusai);
- A pond, where koi fishes swim between lotus flowers;
- All around, an organically shaped garden, featuring red pines, ginkgo, zelkova, and of course blossoming cherry trees.
I am sure you can see the bird, but can you also spot the frog, the butterfly and the squirrel?
Hope you enjoy the model as much as I loved building it :)
