Kitsune
The kitsune is a Japanese fox spirit. They are said to be very wise and powerful, with extremely long lifespans. Though some are malicious tricksters (known as yako), others (zenko) bring good fortune and bountiful harvests. As a kitsune gets older and wiser, they may grow additional tails. When they reach nine tails and have lived 1,000 years, they may become a powerful tenko (celestial fox) with white or golden fur.
I've always been fascinated by stories and folklore from around the world; from the West African spider Anansi to the Welsh bwbachod. I wanted my build to show a small portion of Japan's rich and beautiful folklore, so kitsune, with their magical powers and sometimes mischievous nature, seemed a perfect fit.
This kitsune, a nine-tailed tenko, is sitting beside a quiet pond filled with lotus flowers. All around her, nature thrives and flowers bloom.
