Urban Tranquility
Hi everyone!
This is one of my attempts at the "Celebrate Japanese Culture" challenge.
Western cities are usually bustling, noisy and dirty. But that's not likely to happen in Japan. There, urban areas can be as quiet and calm as the countryside. And everyone can walk by surrounded by calmness and peace.
In this creation, I tried to reflect some of this calm city life, and used the opportunity to imitate some Japanese-style architecture. To give the whole creation a realistic touch, I included Japan's iconic electricity posts, a tram's railway crossing, a small peach tree and a Tōrō (a stone lantern typical in Japan). When the spectator takes a look at the back side of the buildings, it can get a peek at Japanese customs that have spread worlwide: eating ramen with chopsticks and reading manga.
I tried to make the scene as complete as possible, despite the size.
Hope you like it!
