The Wonderful Enokitake
The enoki mushrooms (榎、エノキ). As decorative, pure and elegant as japanese culture itself. The enoki mushrooms flourish in clusters and are a cherished ingredient in Japanese cuisine. For me these mushrooms really, somehow, represent Japanese culture; their uniqueness and simplicity — distinctive and uncomplicated.
I have tried to capture the simplicity as best as I can in LEGO to celebrate the Japanese culture. A little showpiece made in roughly real life scale.
The base is of course inspired by a japanese LEGO classic, the bonsai tree, and I have tried to keep the color scheme very simple. White and dark brown as the primary colors, with the addition of some olive green and reddish brown.
