The Flight of the Heron
Between tradition and modernity, Japanese culture never ceases to fascinate. Follow this flying white heron on a journey through Japanese culture !
My design includes a white heron flying over a Japanese landscape, with Japanese architectural elements and references to Japanese customs, art and pop culture.
Here's what I've proposed in my design:
- A White Heron which is a symbol of peace in Japan
- The Tokyo Skytree
- The Tokyo Tower
- The "floating" Torii gate of Itsukushima Shrine
- Cherry blossoms
- Lotus flowers
- A nod to the art of Takashi Murakami
- The Great Wave off Kanagawa in front of the Mount Fuji
The base includes additional details:
- A teapot in reference to the tea ceremony
- Knots in reference to the kawaii culture
- Chopsticks and sushi in reference to Japanese gastronomy
- A Hand fan
- A gamepad, a nod to the famous Japanese video game company
As Japan is known as the "Land of the Rising Sun" due to its etymological origin, the scene features a sunrise in the background.
