Itsukushima Shrine

The Itsukushima Shrine is one of Japan’s National Treasures. It is located on the popular island of Itsukushima, also known as Miyajima, in the Hiroshima Prefecture in southern Japan. The shrine is known as the “floating” torii gate due to it appearing to float over the water during high tide.

I was inspired to make this build due to my recent trip to Japan. During my trip, we visited Miyajima Island. We were lucky enough to witness Itsukushima Shrine during both high and low tide, allowing us to bask in the beauty both from afar and up close. I’m excited to show my love and appreciation of Japanese culture! :)

I had such a strong passion to create the famous Itsukushima Shrine as proportionally accurate as possible out of respect for the historic structure. I know there are some awesome techniques I haven’t figured out yet that can take this build to the next level!

I hope you enjoy my Itsukushima Shrine build! <3
