Kabuto - Samurai Helmet
The Kabuto is the helmet that the Samurai wore. The central dome shape of the helmet is called a Hachi. The Kabuto features a neck protector called a shikoro, an ear-like protection piece on the sides of the Hachi called a Fukigaeshi, and a visor called a Maebashi or a Mabizashi. The golden part on the front that looks like a U shape is called a Maedate. The Maedate is a decorative piece that symbolizes a family crest, a mythical creature, ora symbol of a good omen.
The build consists of 776 Lego pieces. This was a challenging build. I had to build several iterations of the Hachi, Shikoro, and the Maebashi just for it to be the best. I took some inspiration from the Star Wars helmets, which is funny because Star Wars has taken some inspiration from Japanese culture. I am most proud of how this build came out, and I hope you all enjoy it. All forms of criticism or advice are welcomed. I'm always looking for ways to improve.
