Kadō - The Way of Flowers
Kadō is the Japanese art of flower arrangement based on linear harmony and subtle beauty. Stems, branches, flowers and leaves are used to create a simple yet elegant display.
Kadō is one of the three classic Japanese arts of refinement along side Chadō (the way of tea) and Kōdō (the way of Fragrance). It is believed that the practise can help form a more patient and tolerant person.
In my build I have used a variety of parts to create Japanese flowers with symbolic meanings.
I created a Hydrangea, a symbol of gratitude out of elephant ears.
I used mini figure hoods and capes to create the Wisteria flowers which symbolise longevity.
The purple Iris flowers are made out of bubble windscreens and propellers and represent wisdom.
I used tails and claws to build a yellow Chrysanthemum that is a symbol of rejuvenation.
The pink Camellia is a symbol of appreciation and is made from shells.
And of course the Sakura a well known symbol of Japan that symbolises renewal.
