Senna - The Greatest Pole Lap Ever
Senna and the perfectly balanced Mclaren MP4/4 in harmony during qualifying.
As an ‘80’s child I grew up watching in awe the epic battles that Senna had piloting his iconic red and white McLaren. His qualification lap on 14th May 1988 was phenomenal, he pushed beyond the limit but was able to find even more speed, admitting “It frightened me because I realised I was well beyond my conscious understanding.” This and his record breaking 6 victories around the challenging street circuit inspired my build.
I love to build Lego city's and this diorama captures the same fun in a smaller space! I built this using an eclectic mix of ‘80’s space Lego and my nieces old Lego friends pieces. This turned out to be the perfect mix of engineering and cityscape. It was so much fun to build and is full of endless opportunities for play. My son (5) loves playing with the car and creating new stories with the mini figures.
