Gate to the Upside Down

Deep beneath Hawkins National Laboratory, the Gate grows bigger and bigger, providing an entrance into our world for monsters. 

-The Build-

The challenge for this model was to replicate the organic texture of the Gate from the show. As a result, I found myself testing various unusual parts in order to achieve the organic look. For anyone wondering, because it might be difficult to tell from the pictures, I used hollow translucent 1x2x5 bricks and placed the 1x1 round tiles inside them in order to create the 'interior' of the Gate.
