Hopper Leaves Some Food

This iconic scene at the closing minutes of season one almost didn't happen, according to the Duffer Brothers (the show's creators).  It was at the very last moment during filming that they decided to add this scene with Eleven's favorite food to hint that maybe, just maybe Eleven was still alive as the season came to a close.

The scene features Hopper walking in the woods at night while snow falls heavily through the trees. He stops at a snow-covered lock box. He opens the box, places a sealed Tupperware container and a pair of Eggo waffles inside and then closes the box. He sits and ponders this for a moment before walking away.

Because of this scene we're all left to hope and it sets the stage for Hopper and Eleven's very important and oft-explosive relationship in season two.

What would the end of season one have been like without this cliffhanging moment? Who's to say, but I recall my excitement when I saw this and realized Eleven might still be around.
