Free Willy: The Escape
Free Willy is a film about a boy named Jesse who befriends the orca Willy at the local theme park. But when some businessmen have insidious plans for Willy, Jesse will rescue the orca by helping him return to the open ocean.
This build exhibits the most iconic scene of the movie which is the escape at the end. It depicts Willy jumping over the rocks to the open ocean, which has little waves moving toward the coast. Meanwhile two seagulls are flying over the scene and the rocks are covered in white bird poo. Willy also has the black mark beneath his chin and the curled fin, just like in the movie. The build uses no prints or stickers apart from the seagulls and the torso and head of Jesse.
I think Free Willy is a wonderful feel-good movie that can be enjoyed by the whole family. So if this were a set it could be enjoyed by people of all ages and especially movie fans as it wouldn't be out of place next to other dioramas of famous movie scenes that LEGO has made in the past.
