Dante's Peak

The lakes are boiling, tremors are building, and all the models point to one thing: the mountain is about to go...

A staple of 90s disaster movies and a member of the 1997 volcano movie duo, Dante's Peak stars Pierce Brosnan as volcanologist Harry Dalton and Linda Hamilton as Rachel Wando, mayor of the small Washington town of Dante's Peak, as the former investigates the increasing activity of the town's nearby volcano. When the volcano finally does erupt, it's a race to escape the numerous hazards, from lava flows to pyroclastic surges, unleashed by the awakening mountain.

The set is an amalgamation of two scenes from the film: the evacuation of the town as the eruption begins, and the infamous "driving over lava" sequence.
