Whoa Momma - It's Johnny Bravo!
"Whoa Momma!"
The catchphrase of the pompadored, shades-wearing, muscle-bound, momma's boy, Johnny Bravo - one of the most succesful cartoon characters of the late 90s!
Johnny Bravo was a cartoon character created by Van Partible for the Cartoon Network in 1997 - part of the ongoing animation rennaisance that was such a big part of the 90s. Featuring the same balance of visual style, madcap antics, and in-jokes that typefied a lot of the cartoons of this era, such as Dexter's Laboratory, Powerpuff Girls and Ren & Stimpy.
Fancying himself as a modern blend of Elvis Presley, James Dean, and therefore the local lothario, the reality is that Johnny is actually a buffon, still living at home with his mom Bunny, and is regulalry tormented by intelligent young neighbour, Little Suzy.
I loved the energy, humour and stacatto animation style of Johnny Bravo. It was fun trying to capture his body shape in Lego - it's SO over the top!
