Build Your Own Couch Gag: The Simpsons
With its famous opening "couch gag", The Simpsons is an iconic TV series that dominated 90s screens. This model lets builders recreate: 1) the Simpsons' own famous TV, antenna and VHS player with cassette, which are themselves a nostalgic tribute to the technology of the 90s, 2) the classic family couch plus 3) a series of real couch gags that were shown in the 90s, using additional pieces stored in a compartment in the back of the TV.
Why I built it
The Simpsons is undeniably one of the most culturally important and influential shows of the 90s. This model is a fun, colourful and playable way to enjoy the characters and relive the nostalgic technology of VHS cassettes, big antennae and cathode ray TVs!
Why it would make a great set
As well as being a playable set, you can surprise your loved ones by changing the display each day. The changeable scenes and multiple scales show the limitless possibilities of Lego, since you can also add any of your own pieces to make new gags!
