X-Files Shadow Box

The pilot of the long-running sci fi series, The X-Files, ended with a classic scene where we see the show's main antagonist, CSM, depositing the implant given by Scully to Blevins in the evidence room. The camera slowly pulls back, revealing that it's in fact a vast warehouse full of identical implants, cementing the themes of paranoia and conspiracy that would continue to underscore the mythology arc episodes of the series.

As a huge fan of The X-Files, pretty much from day one, I wanted to make my own small tribute to this key scene which imprinted itself in my memory from the first time I saw it. I had the idea for making a mini shadow box diorama, open on two sides; it's a very gloomy location in the show, so tricky to capture that dark atmosphere while still having it display clearly. Hopefully I managed to strike that balance. Features CSM minifig with implant accessory, naturally!
