The Quantum Judge
This cat exists in a superposition of states (Awake and Asleep) inside a box so you can answer the eternal questions, such as:
Whose turn is it to take out the garbage?
HOW IT WORKS
Why go to the effort of flipping a coin when you can easily make daily decisions by leveraging quantum mechanics?
Grab the handle, spin the wheel, have the red dots aligned, and open the door.
If the cat is asleep, you’ve been spared this time.
If it’s awake, don’t despair. In an alternate universe, it’s definitely not you again.
DISCLAIMER:
This is just a basic working version of the idea, a play on the concepts from quantum mechanics. It uses a spinning mechanism with manual controls, and two cat models (one for each state) on a turntable.
The final model could flesh out the concept in various ways:
- A randomizing mechanism connected to the turntable, which you can trigger just by opening the door.
- Better cats.
- Settings for the cats, e.g.: day vs night.
