The Lab Bench

What could be more representative of research than a packed lab bench?
As a PhD student, this used to be my office and it is amazing the amount of science that can be performed on such a small place: You want to sequence yourself some genome? You can! Extract DNA, RNA or proteins? You can! Run wild tests like PCR, western blotting or other cool stuff? You can! All the instruments and equipment are there just as in the reality.
Front view of the bench is for DNA and protein analyses, back view is for RNA and sequencing. You are all set to make great discoveries!

From top left to bottom right on the third picture, you will find:
·      A thermocycler to run reverse transcription and PCR tests
·      A DNA sequencer
·      A big centrifuge to pellet some samples
·      A nanodrop to dose RNA and DNA samples
·      A vortex to mix things up

The model has 644 parts, for 8.5cm width (3.3 inches), 22.8cm length (9 inches) and 13.1cm height (5.1 inches).
