Fully Functional Antique Optical Level
An Optical Level is an instrument used to determine the vertical distance (or relative height) between two or more points. A “Y” level is a special kind of optical level, where the bubble/spirit level or the whole telescope is detachable so it can be turned around by 180 degrees.
Levelling instruments are mostly used in Geodesy, Hydrology and Architecture.
Optical levels are not being used industrially anymore, because modern instruments are much faster and simpler to use. Nowadays almost exclusively laser levels or digital levels can be found.
Working focal setting knob; levelling screws; spirit (gravitational) level; rotation clamp; telescope adjusting mechanism and staff plummet.
