The Diptych Sundial
This model is a pocket model consisting of two dials. Oriented thanks to the compass, the shadow made it possible to read the time on one or the other of the dials. The pocket diptych dial is a special form of sundial, in that it is portable, double and foldable. The sundial by its simplicity is one of the very first objects used by man to measure the passage of time. I find the object very aesthetic. It was most often made of wood or bronze, however it could also sometimes be found ivory. Thank you.
