Fully Functioning Robot Arm
This robot arm was designed with the goal of demonstrating the application of various STEM concepts: Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. It serves as a comprehensive model that showcases how these principles are integrated into a single, functional system.
The gripper arm can move independently in two axes and rotate on a turntable. It incorporates gears, a worm gear mechanism, a turntable, and linear actuators, functioning as an excellent example of how gears and linkages can be utilized to create a functional device.
The gripper itself can grasp and release objects when the knob gear is turned. It incorporates a rubber band maintaining its grip even without applied force (not visible in the render). The opening and closing uses a neat small gear mechanism that works surprisingly well.
The robot serves as an ideal (exactly) 100-part set, providing a fun and interactive way to learn about basic technological and engineering principles in an engaging manner.
