The Mimic Treasure Chest
The mimic is an iconic original monster from the 1st edition of Advanced Dungeons & Dragons in 1977. This monster disguises itself as a treasure chest to lure greedy adventurers into its trap.
When closed this Lego set is a beautiful treasure chest that would be at home in any collectors display case. I modeled the overall design of the exterior on the minifigure scale treasure chest Lego pieces to celebrate this collaboration between Lego and D&D.
When opened this Lego set is a snarling monster guarding its hidden treasure from unwary travelers. Filled with piles of gold, silver and gems, lined with skeletons and gore, and guarded by bloody teeth and a barbed tongue, this is one monster who’s many eyes you don’t want to catch.
This monster is an ideal anniversary set because it celebrates the rich original and creative 50-year history of D&D. The beautiful treasure chest also makes the set inviting and accessible to other people just entering the D&D world.
